The class will run like my workshop did originally -- with a rotating and evolving focus on real world audition scenarios, guest industry professionals (directors, casting folk, agents), on-camera work, video playback/critique, the occasional curve ball, and so much more. is $100 on months with three classes, and $130 on months with four. Drop-ins are welcome for a $40 fee. Actors can audit the class (observation only) one time for no charge.
We are located at the Big Puddle Films / Levy Moroshan Photography studio, at 1028 SE Water Ave. PDX 97214 (take the elevator to the basement and hang a right).
Likely curriculum ideas:
AUDITION FUNDAMENTALS
- sides will be sent out the day before.
- actors will work on camera and watch back on the large monitor.
- actors will verbalize their impressions of their "audition".
- actors will receive feedback from myself and guest auditor (casting director).
FOCUSING ON LOCATION / RELATIONSHIP
- sides will be sent out the day before.
- actors will work together on camera and watch back on the large monitor.
- actors will receive feedback from myself and guest auditor (writer/director).
CREATING A CHARACTER
- sides will be sent out the week before.
- we will discuss usage of a unique character choice that is a natural fit for each actor.
- actors will work on camera and watch back on the large monitor.
- actors will receive feedback from myself and the fellow workshop actors.
COLD READ
- character description will be sent out the morning of the workshop.
- actors will receive sides on arrival, and cold read on camera.
- actors will watch scenes back on the large monitor.
- actors will decide who amongst them would be called back, and why.
- actors will receive feedback from myself and guest auditor (talent representative).
