I recently booked another gig, so the workshop will start on 1/31 rather than 1/24.
TODD A. ROBINSON AUDITION WORKSHOP CURRICULUM - JAN 31st - MAR 14 2013
Week One - 1/31/13 - FIRST AUDITION
- Sides will be sent out the day before.
- Actors will work on camera.
- We will review tapes and discuss what we saw from each actor.
- The actors will each be asked what they saw that they liked and disliked in their own tape.
- guest auditor will be casting director, Lori Lewis.
Week Two - 2/7/13 - FOCUSING ON LOCATION / RELATIONSHIP
- Sides will be sent out the day before.
- Actors will work together on camera.
- We will review tapes and discuss.
- guest auditor will be writer/director, Ian Fowler.
Week Three - 2/21/13 - BRITISH ISLES DIALECTS
- Sides will be sent out the week before.
- We will discuss usage of a British dialect that is a natural fit for each actor.
- Actors will work on camera.
- We will review tapes and discuss.
- guest auditor will be Christopher Toyne.
Week Four - 2/28/13 - COLD READ
- character description will be sent out the morning of the workshop.
- actors will receive sides on arrival, and cold read on camera.
- We will review tapes and discuss what we saw from each actor.
- The actors will decide who amongst them would be called back, and why.
- guest auditor will be talent agent, Dennis Troutman.
Week Five -3/7/13 - CALL BACKS
- Sides will be the same from the cold read workshop.
- We will discuss the need to step things up a notch for call backs, while staying true to original read.
- Actors will work on camera.
- We will review tapes and discuss what we saw from each actor.
- The actors will decide who amongst them would book the part, and why.
- guest auditor will be a local industry professional.
BONUS WEEK
Week Six - 3/14/13 - SHOWCASE
- I will invite my most influential industry friends and connections to come watch the actors present
the strongest representation of their chops!
